COMING SOON

BUCKHEAD: David Clapp, Marisa Dougherty and Tim Williams, three alums from the Tango Group (as in Cafe Tu Tu Tango), have gotten together to open Dantanna's Surf, Turf & Turf next Wednesday in the former Monty's Stone Crab and Seafood Restaurant. Clapp says the restaurant is named after his children, Dan and Anna. Williams, a Culinary Institute of America grad and most recently the chef at the Gwinnett Civic Center, will be the chef. The restaurant will offer a contemporary American menu, including such lunch items as sandwiches, burgers and salads. Dinner items include crostinis, aged beef, fresh seafood flown in daily, Asian chicken and Maine lobster salads, braised lamb shanks, Zinfandel short ribs, beer-battered shrimp and desserts.

The restaurant's interior favors dark woods, leather seats, hardwood floors and a black granite bar top. Diners can watch sports on Holo-View televisions, which have translucent plexiglass screens and can be viewed from either side. Lunch: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays-Sundays. Dinner: 3-11 p.m. Sundays-Tuesdays; 3 p.m.-midnight Wednesdays-Thursdays; 3 p.m.-1 a.m. Fridays-Saturdays. Bar remains open later every night and a late-night menu is available. 3400 Around Lenox Drive, Suite 304. 404-760-8873, www.dantannas.com.

NORCROSS: After 11 successful years in Sandy Springs, Greg Pyne is expanding his business. With new co-owner Paul Cooper, who has managed multiple-unit operations for many years, Pyne is opening the second Brooklyn Cafe in the Forum in mid-November. The space, designed by architect Tony Akley and Restaurant Consulting Group in Marietta, will have, according to Pyne, "the feel of the first Brooklyn Cafe but a somewhat different look, because it's in a different neighborhood and is being geared to reflect that, including a different mural in the dining room."

Overseeing the kitchen will be Logan Aiken, executive chef at the first location. The menu will be about 75 percent the same as the original eatery's, offering such signature dishes as fried calamari and spinach and mushroom ravioli with grilled chicken and goat cheese. It also will reflect the talents of the chef de cuisine, to be announced. Beer and wine will be served by the glass and half-glass. 11 a.m.-10:02 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays. 5165 PeachtreeParkway, Building 200. 770-441-2666, www.brooklyncafe.com.

NOW OPEN

DUNWOODY: Robert Leavey, who retired from IBM and decided to pursue his wine passion, recently opened d'Vine Wine Bar & Shop. A retail space selling wines by the bottle and half-bottle, it opens at noon, and it becomes a wine-and-appetizer gathering place from late afternoon through the evening. Renee Alexander, who moved from Virginia, manages and does the cooking at d'Vine. Trained for six years under the chef at New York's Russian Tea Room, Alexander offers a menu of appetizer-size dishes, which range from $6 to $13. Among the offerings are crab cakes, cheese and pasta platters, muscat mango pie and port-soaked bread pudding. "Two dishes make a meal," claims Alexander. There are 40 wines by the glass and 50 domestic microbrews and international beers. 4-10 p.m. Mondays-Wednesdays; 4 p.m.-midnight Thursdays-Saturdays. 5486 Chamblee Dunwoody Road. 770-350-9463, www.atlantawinebar.com.

CHANGES

DECATUR: Serendipity happens. Cafe owner Laura McCombs posted an ad for a chef on ajcjobs.com but couldn't find a suitable candidate and closed her restaurant on Sept. 16. A week later, however, she received a call from a New York chef who was moving to Atlanta and had seen the ad. At the end of the month, they shook hands as co-owners, and McCombs and Michael Condon reopened BaddaBing! on Oct. 2. Condon, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and most recently a consulting chef for the Park East Grill in Manhattan, has added his own dishes to the menu's eclectic comfort food faves and is making homemade pasta, guacamole and homemade tortilla chips and all desserts. In addition to individual servings to go or eat in, folks can now buy food by the pound: pork loin, meatloaf, maple-glazed ham with sweet potatoes, Condon's own pomodoro sauce and much more. 906 W. College Ave. 404-373-4500, www.baddabing.net.
